Being not particularly tall and having the shorter arm length to accompany the height, I can so relate to this young Pileated Woodpecker.
There must have been some great stash of insects or grubs inside this old tree, that was worth taking the extra effort.
And who knew the Pileated Woodpecker was such a contortionist and so flexible in his neck (Photo #3).
