"DO YOU NEED HELP WITH A CARRY OUT?"

Beaver (North American) - 7 Photos

So same beaver who appeared in the blog, "Beaver in Training (July 10, 2025)", who can be identified by the tags/notches on his/her tail and a familiar question from my local store, after I've purchased my groceries.

Last week Calgary, Alberta received over 30 mm of rain within a 24 hour period and it appears the beavers' lodge may have sprung a leak in the roof.

There were five trips from the pond, up to the top of the lodge to deposit a combination of grass, reeds, mud, branches & stones, to approximately one square foot area. And the material retrieved from the bottom of the pond wasn't just dumped on top (Photo #1 through Photo #4). It was interwoven within the existing lodge construction in a design only known by beaver engineers (Photo #5 through Photo #7).

And then it was back into the lodge, probably to enjoy a meal with family members, who could be heard through the beaver walls, murmuring.
