"DOWNTIME & UPTURN"

Bald Eagle (Male) - 11 Photos

One cold but glorious blue sky morning and one Bald Eagle just taking the world in from a lofty branch.

Because of the length of time spent perching, the eagle must have already caught food earlier in the day. Although nothing missed his attention or stare, there was still time to spend on grooming & stretching (Photo #1 through Photo #6).

But eventually duty called and we were off. With some eagles you can prepare for a take-off. But this eagle, in particular, gets down (or rather) up to business without much warning. It's usually a quick turn around to face into the wind, a brief crouch and then up and away, the stretching & body necessities having been completed well in advance of the departure (Photo #7 through Photo #11).
