Bald Eagle (Adult) - 7 Photos

When photographing wildlife, you are always subject to lighting at Nature's discretion. It can be sunny with clear blue skies when you arrive and over the course of the day, cloud cover can arrive.

I do like blue skies. However, there is something special about some cloud cover with a hint of blue and soft sunlight reaching through from behind the camera to highlight the wildlife and bring out the shadows and definition.

And, of course, it certainly helps to have a magnificent adult Bald Eagle perching on a branch, overlooking the river to accentuate how Nature's lighting can change.

The pose in the last photo, Photo #7, reminds me of the gryphon, a mythical creature with the head & wings of an eagle and the body of a lion, particularly with the eagle is in a tight crouching position ready for take-off.
