The term "busy beaver" implies that beavers are busy working all night long (and sometimes during the day too).
But beavers like people need time to just chill out, even for a short period. For beavers, it can be grabbing a quick snack (Photo #2 & Photo #3) or even taking a moment to tackle an annoying itch (Photo #4 through Photo #7).
And as to the certainty that this beaver is indeed a beaver mother, other than being an adult from her size. Photo #8 was taken as this beaver mother was grooming and oiling her coat, where all is revealed. :)
