It was -20 degrees C but sunny and along the river, all the trees & shrubbery were covered in hoarfrost.
Originally, there was a pair of Bald Eagles in a dead tree, one just hidden behind a second larger branch but left shortly after I arrived. The second (who I believe to be the female), stayed for a short period and then followed her mate up river.
I supposed it's those piercing yellow eyes that give the eagle the "frosty" stare. It's a look that makes me think that someone did something nasty in their cereal that morning.:)
But everything was frosty, including the tree and its branches. And the eagle was not excluded from Nature's paintbrush. Assume earlier in the morning, there was more frost on her feathers, etc. but the remnants can still be seen on her chest & head feathers.
