"HOO'S HIDING IN THE WOODS?"

Certain many of us have done this. That all important question to ourselves - "Is it?" And then the response, "Yes, it is!" And then a "No, it's not". And then the sequence is repeated.

So camouflaged against a fir tree, taking one step forward, the owl disappeared behind the fir bough. Take one step back and the owl re-appeared into view.

So the best plan of action is to take note of the terrain surrounding the specific tree and move forward.

And that would be a definite "yes" so a trek is made into a thickly wooded area, trying to find somewhere to sit and hunker down, and be as discreet and quiet as possible so as not to disturb the owl.

But, of course, owls have that superior vision & hearing & got that first glance of "darn, busted" (Photo #1) before the owl returned to his/her regular owl duties, which included grooming (Photo #2 through Photo #5) and stretching (Photo #6 and #7). 

And then it was time to leave. The sun had almost set and with that total darkness in the woods. An opportunity for departure and no doubt, the owl would be departing soon as well to pursue hunting activities.
