Over the course of the Winter, I've only seen a mink a few times which were extremely brief so I had forgotten how fast they move & literally disappear, only to reappear some distance away (Photo #1).
Jokingly, I think the mink twitches his/her nose, disappears and then twitches the nose again and reappears. Probably a couple of double expressos for the photographer should be a pre-requisite before thinking of keeping up.
The April morning the following photos were taken, was not particularly Spring like as evidenced by the snow.
Although there were some fishing attempts, he must have caught a few & devoured them before arriving on scene, as there were a few brief interludes of sitting & contemplating (Photo #2 through Photo #5). And then a quick dive back into the water (Photo #6), before reappearing & disappearing into the woodwork (Photo #7 & Photo #8), for what I believe must have been a long mink nap.
I say "he" because of his size (by mink standards) and the fact that most of the fish he caught the next day (another blog to follow), were eaten on site but only time will tell.
