"IN THE SHADOW OF AN EAGLE" (Part 2)

Following on from the previous blog, which was Part 1, dated December 23rd, 2025, as mentioned the male Bald Eagle was already perched high in a tree when I arrived on the scene.

He is much smaller than his mate and had been in the tree at least 50 minutes (and probably longer) before she flew in.

There was the crowing "hello" upon her arrival (Photo #1) before resuming his stately position (Photo #2 & Photo #3). A short interval passed and he took flight. Interestingly, there was no stretching prior to taking off, just a quick matter of relieving himself, a quick turn and then off (Photo #4 & Photo #5).

Viewing an eagle in full flight is nothing less than spectacular (Photo #6 through Photo #8). And yes, he too, has that "panda bear" face look. 

If one was projecting human thoughts upon this male Bald Eagle, you might wonder if a question to his mate might have been, "What have you been doing? I've been sitting in this tree, which we decided upon as a meeting place, for over an hour waiting in the cold!" But, of course, no human is privy to an eagle's thoughts or agenda.
